Since there is no such thing as a stupid question, we bring you the Frequently Asked Questions page!

Q)  Why do you ID me every time I come in?  You know I am old enough, I have been there a hundred times!

A)  We need to be certain you have ID on you.  When ABC, RPD or whatever agency comes through for a random ID check and you don't have yours on you, we get hassled big time for not doing our jobs.  You will have your time wasted while they run your information to confirm your identity and age.  It is a hassle none of us needs, and if your are old enough to drink you are old enough to know to carry ID when you do it!

Q)  Is the Sports Bar a biker bar?

A)  Define biker bar....  If you mean a place frequented by a lot of motorcycle riders, yes.  If you mean the proverbial biker bar you see in the movies, similar to Road House, no.  We don't care if you ride or not. If you are over 21 and can act like it, you are welcome here.  We try to support all the clubs fund raisers, and the clubs support our operation by regularly patronizing our bar and treating us with the utmost of respect.  In all of our years in business, there has never been a problem with a, "biker."

Q)  Are you a hard rock place, a hip-hop place or what?  I never know what I am going to get when I come in.

A)  That is the point!  We are open every day of the year, so we have 365 nights we can do something with.  By keeping it fresh we stay one step ahead of the competition.  We do everything from an occasional country night to hip hop, to hard rock, blues and acoustic nights.  You can always check the website for our schedule or give us a call at (530) 243-9881

Q)  Are you trying to be everything to everyone?

A)  No, we realize that is unrealistic.  Instead we try to offer something for everybody, there is a difference.

Q)  What does, "Biker Friendly," mean?

A)  When you ride motorcycles you quickly realize that many folks are intimidated by your appearance.  Something about leather and loud motorcycles, I guess.  Believe it or not, there are a lot of places across the nation that will not even serve a, "biker."  Motels especially.  Biker friendly means just that, we are happy to meet you, talk bikes and serve you.  You will be treated with respect whether you ride a Harley or a Honda or a Huffy.

Q)  Why don't you put juke box speakers on the patio?

A)  Courtesy for the apartment occupants adjacent to us.  The residents and owners of the apartment complex next to us have been nothing but supportive of everything we have done since we began.  That is also why we are strict about noise in the parking lot, especially late at night.

Q)  How come no one in the North State has QB1?

A)  Quite frankly because the company that operates the system has priced themselves out of the market.  Now they require you contract with them for the entire year, when QB1 is only really popular for the NFL season.  There are games for NASCAR and MLBB, but they are not popular enough to get past the cost factor.  We offer Wi-Fi and encourage fans to bring their laptops and use our broadband to play interactive games like fantasy football.

Q)  Are you a restaurant or bar?

A)  Amazingly we know the difference!  We are a bar that serves some food.  We are licensed as a bar by the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, and are inspected by the Health Department as a restaurant.  We have a limited but fantastic menu.  There are days that we do special foods like, Monday Night Football ribs and Sunday Football breakfast and lunch, beer brats on Tuesday evenings, but we are definitely more a bar then restaurant.

Q)  Is, "Last Call," closing time?  What exactly does the term mean?

A)  Boy am I happy to answer this one!  Last call is the final opportunity to order a drink before closing time.  Last call is only a few minutes long, and once over we cannot serve any more.  Last call is also a warning that closing time is approaching.  Finish up your pool or dart games, get a to-go box for whatever food you won't be able to finish, we will be picking up all the glassware shortly.

Q)  What if I still have a 1/2 pitcher of beer?

A)  When it is time to pick up the glassware, it is time regardless of whether there is anything remaining in it.

Q)  But your clock is fast!

A)  Yes, that is bar time.  Bar time is approximately fifteen minutes ahead of actual time.  Under California State Law we must have all glassware cleared by 2:00 AM, "real-time."  There is no flexibility with this one!

Q)  Do you provide anything for designated drivers?

A)  Yes, we are happy to provide sodas or juice to designated drivers.

Q)  Can a band have members younger than 21?

A)  Yes.  There is a provision in California Law for minor musicians.  They must be over 18, no exceptions.  There are a bunch of rules for pulling it off, but it can be done.  We require the minor musician's ID and we make copies for our records.  Any band with questions about our minor musician procedures is welcome to give Meinert Toberer a call at (530) 243-9881.

Q)  The gate on the patio has a sign saying it is an alarmed emergency exit.  Why is it an emergency exit only and is there really an alarm?

A)  The fire department requires an emergency exit so you would not have to go back inside the building to get out in an emergency.  Alcoholic Beverage Control strictly forbids it from being a doorway for regular ingress and egress.  Yes, it is alarmed, loudly I might add.  Folks that can't read the huge sign are obviously in no need of additional service and are sent away.

Q)  What works as ID?

A)  VALID state issued (any state) driver's license or ID card is best.  The older style military ID works, but the new ID with the computer chip on front is not legal ID in California because it does not state height, weight, eye color and hair color.  Even though there is a photo, state law requires it be printed on the ID as well.  Birth certificates, student ID, Cosco cards, etc., don't work.

Q)  Valid?  What if it is expired? My information is still accurate.

A)  Common sense says yes, but the state says no.  The ID must be valid to be acceptable for entry to licensed premises or purchase of alcohol.

Q)  I have a medical marijuana card, where can I smoke?

A)  Home sounds like a good idea.  Let's be clear...  We believe marijuana should be legalized, taxed and standards set for under the influence issues like driving.  However, use on this property is a huge no no that will result in expulsion and possible arrest.
