the Sports Bar opened in October 1999. Previously known as The Oakwood and later as Instincts the location had a raucous reputation. The new ownership took immediate steps to eliminate problems and create the premier adult party spot in the North State.
Located on Lake Boulevard, west of the Raley’s and Shopko shopping center and directly across from the Redding Moose Lodge, the Sports Bar is incredibly easy to find. The only blue building on the Boulevard (very blue) screams at traffic going by.
With more than 25 TV’s serviced by 11 satellite dishes the Sports Bar is the best spot to watch all your favorite sports. In addition to showing all NBA, NFL, and Major League Baseball games, we regularly show college sports, tennis, golf, soccer and hunting and fishing programming.
A regular stop of Team Crown Royal Professional Fishing Team, and the Official Sports Bar of ESPN Radio as well as River Pirate Guide Service we take our “wilderness sports” seriously. During the afternoon there is a great group here talking hunting and fishing. Stop in and join the conversation, you’ll have a great time and might even learn something!
the Sports Bar is a “full” bar, offering some great “finger foods” and a wide selection of draught and bottled beer as well as fantastic cocktails. We can accommodate “to-go” food orders, and take care of your “off site” party needs. Toast of the Town
the Sports Bar is the place to go if you’re looking for a casual, fun and lively place to hang out with friends, or simply meet new exciting people. If you are not into the sports offered on a particular day, we have three tournament quality pool tables, two fantastic dart systems, some great video games or you can always get a lively conversation started at the bar. A hint though, we suggest staying away from politics or religion; those conversations never seem to end well….
We’re open seven days a week from noon to 2:00 AM. Our happy hours are from Noon to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday and food is available during all open hours.
